How it works

A patient advocacy program that runs in the background

Every practice wants happy patients to talk about them. Most never give those patients a reason, or a way, to do it. This gives them both. Below is what each part does, with examples from Elate Orthodontics, a three-office practice in North Texas running the program today. It comes from the orthodontists behind White Glove Orthodontist.

01 Gamify the experience

Treatment is long. Give it levels.

Orthodontic treatment runs a year or two. Levels, phases and a grand prize at the end give patients something to climb, and a reason to keep opening your portal between visits.

At Elate

15 levels across 5 phases, from “Welcome” to “Legend.” The Legend Reward at Level 15 is an iPad or Apple Watch SE, and it’s meant to take years to reach.

02 Reward good behavior

Points for the things you already ask patients to do

Showing up. Checking in. Sending a progress photo. Hitting a treatment milestone. You decide which behaviors earn points and how many, so the program pushes patients toward what matters to your practice.

At Elate

Patients get a welcome bonus for signing up, points for a weekly check-in, a photo bonus for posting treatment progress, and trivia about the practice. Milestones like bonding day and braces off are tracked automatically.

03 Make patients brand ambassadors

Your happiest patients, posting about you

Teens are already on Instagram and TikTok. Reward them for tagging your practice in a progress photo or a debond video, and your social feed starts filling itself with real patients instead of stock photos.

At Elate

The “Voice” phase (levels 4 to 6) is about sharing: tagging Elate on social and posting treatment photos. Every post is proof in the patient’s own words.

04 Make moms your advocates

The patient is 12. The decision-maker is mom.

In orthodontics the parent books the visits, pays the bill and talks to the other parents at school pickup. So parents, siblings and friends can join too, with their own points and their own referral code.

At Elate

The program is open to patients, parents, family and friends. When a mom refers another family and they start, she earns, and so does the new family.

05 A differentiator for NPEs

One more reason to book with you

When a family is comparing three offices, most of them sound the same. A rewards program they can join on day one is easy to understand and easy to mention at the new patient exam. Referred friends also show up already warm.

At Elate

Referrals have their own tab. A friend mentions the member’s name or code at the visit, the team verifies it in one tap, and both sides earn a thank-you. Every verified referral is logged, so you can see which families send you patients.

06 Have fun, create buzz

Campaigns that give people something to talk about

Run a raffle, a contest or a seasonal challenge from the dashboard. It shows up in everyone’s portal right away, and gives your team and your social accounts something fun to post.

At Elate

During the 2026 World Cup, members picked a winner from all 48 teams. Two members called Spain, and each got 1,000 points.

07 Your branding and your goals

It looks like your practice, because it is

Your logo, colors, offices and voice on your own subdomain. Pick the tasks, point values and rewards that match what you’re trying to grow, whether that’s referrals, social content, reviews of your care or plain retention.

At Elate

The portal lives at rewards.elateorthodontics.com (see the public program page) in Elate’s navy and yellow, with Elate’s own tone (“Get rewarded for being you”). Your version starts from the same proven setup and gets changed to fit you.

Questions

What is an orthodontic patient rewards program?

It’s a loyalty and advocacy program for your patients and their families. They earn points for things like showing up, hitting treatment milestones, posting about your practice and referring friends, then redeem points for rewards you pick.

Can parents join, or just patients?

Parents, siblings, family and friends can all join with their own accounts. In orthodontics the parent is often your best advocate.

Is anything physical involved?

No. Login is by phone number in the browser, rewards are digital gift cards, and your team runs everything from the dashboard. If you want to offer a physical grand prize or swag, you can, but it’s optional.

How is this different from a dental loyalty program?

Most dental loyalty programs are built around cleanings twice a year. Orthodontic treatment runs a year or two with visits every few weeks, and a parent is usually involved. The levels, milestones and rewards here are built for that timeline.

We’re looking at Patient Rewards Hub and other platforms. Why WGO?

WGO was designed by practicing orthodontists and comes preloaded with a program that’s already running at a real practice. It’s priced for independent offices, and there’s no long-term contract. More on what sets WGO apart and the doctors behind it.

Can we change the tasks and rewards?

Yes. Point values, tasks, levels, the rewards catalog and the grand prize are all set to your practice’s goals and budget.

What does the $599 setup include?

We set up your branded portal and subdomain, load your offices, logo and colors, set up your tasks and rewards catalog, create staff logins, and walk your team through the dashboard.

Who pays for the rewards?

Your practice. You pick the catalog and set the point prices, so you control the cost.

Is there a contract?

No. The $599 setup and first month are due at signup, then it’s $299 a month. Cancel anytime.

How is patient information handled?

Each practice’s data is kept separate from every other practice, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement with your practice during onboarding.
